Fred B. Willard, DDS
Born in Cuero, Texas, Dr. Willard spent most of his growing up years in Giddings, the ancestral home of both his parents. His maternal ancestors arrived in Texas from Germany; his paternal ancestors came to the central Texas area shortly before the War Between the States. Dr. Willard graduated from Giddings High School, completed his pre-dental requirements at Southwest Texas State in San Marcos, and attended the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston where he graduated with honors in 1962.
After serving in the US Army Dental Corps, Dr. Willard was an associate in a private practice near Lubbock. Because his young son was very allergic to cotton gin dust and insecticides, the family was encouraged to move. In 1965 Dr. Willard purchased Dr. Roger Bolton's dental practice located near the corner of East San Antonio and Union Streets in what was known as Comaltown in New Braunfels, population 12,000.

After practicing in New Braunfels for seven years, the family went to South Korea for a year as missionaries. Dr. Willard taught dentistry to residents and interns at the Kwangju Christian Hospital. Upon his return home, Dr. Willard resumed his practice then located in the Landa Professional Center, 457 Landa St., and became very involved in his church community.

Dr. Willard is a Fellow in the American College of Dentists, a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and a 1994 nominee for Texas Dentist of the Year in the Texas Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Willard was named to the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce Honor's Hall and has received numerous other awards and honors from church and organizations.

Dr. Willard and his wife Colleen have two sons, Will and Benton, and nine grandchildren.
